To celebrate his birthday on 8 August, and to mark the countdown to the 50th anniversary of the Great Train Robbery on 8 August 2013, Ron has asked his publishers to cut the cost of the Kindle version of his autobiography, Odd Man Out: The Last Straw, and the hardback copy of the book as well.
On Amazon, the Kindle version of Ron’s autobiography is now just £4.11 while the hardback version of the book – with 32 pages of photographs from the life and times of Ronnie Biggs – has been reduced from £19.99 to £15.00.
As Ron tapped out on his spelling board: “I think my life has been a little more colourful than just 50 shades of grey!”
Ron also hopes that the book will give people the chance to read the true story of his life with Charmian, the then “Mrs Biggs”, prior to the ITV drama series later this year.
Fans, or those with an interest in Ron and the train robbery, can also buy limited leather bound editions and the ultimate collectors box set (that is limited to just 15 copies).
Ron promises that he will do his very best to try and stick around for the 50th anniversary of the train robbery in 2013, after which he will try and get fit so that he can compete in the 2016 Olympic games in his old home town of Rio de Janeiro.
